Make a list of all of things you are grateful for. I refer to these things as my blessings. This list can be written down or done as a mental list, whatever you are most comfortable with. As you take note of each of these things individually, do you feel a warm, peaceful and almost bubbling excitement within yourself? Do you smile as you think of them?
THAT is happiness you’re feeling … YOUR happiness.
You’ve created this opportunity for yourself by slowing down for a moment, taking into account the many good things you have in your life, and recognizing how they make you feel.
We create our own happiness, it’s true. Slowing down enough to recognize it is often the key that we forget to use. This key unlocks the doorway to our own special place filled with love, warmth, smiles and harmony.
I relate this feeling to giving myself a hug from the inside. It’s unlike any other feeling in the world, and something that no other person can give me. A gift I give to myself.
The feeling of happiness that we find ourselves looking to others to provide for us is much more enhanced and sustained when we slow down, look within ourselves, and find the happiness that we’ve been searching for.
I’m a proud mom, a friend to many, and have a profound belief in human kindness.
