Be

Committed

Be

Commited

Regardless of what goals you have set for yourself, you have to be committed to seeing them through. It’s through the commitment that you’ll continue to make the improvements needed to better yourself. Whether it’s taking a chance on launching a business, getting a gym membership to improve your physical well being, or taking a cooking class because you want to improve your cooking skills, commitment is what drives us all to become more successful.

Remember

People Care About You, Not Your Success

Remember

People Care About You, Not Your Success

People don’t care about the brand or quality of clothes you wear, or how big your house is, or what kind of vehicle you drive. This doesn’t mean that they don’t respect your achievements or possessions, it just isn’t where their focus is. Instead, they care about you as an individual and they’ll support you no matter what — because they love you for who YOU are.

Be

Grateful Everyday

Be

Grateful Everyday

The results of you being grateful for what you have include you feeling better about your life, being more enthusiastic, and being more willing to help others. Being grateful reduces the amount of stress you feel and your health will benefit from it too. Make it a habit to write down, or say it out loud (even if only to yourself) what you’re grateful for each and every day. This simple act of daily gratitude makes a huge impact on how you’ll feel about your days going forward… it’s true.

Take

Action

Take

Action

An interesting fact I’ve read about and learned first hand is this — confidence is just as important as competence. It makes me smile to write this as I have found it has truth to it… “fake it ’til you make it”. Even when you aren’t completely sure of yourself as you go into a situation, just go forth with confidence and things seem to have a way of falling into place. People will see that you’re genuinely trying and things often work out. Be confident in yourself — you truly are amazing!

Money

Can’t Buy Happiness

Money

Can’t Buy Happiness

You may be earning a six figure income, but that doesn’t automatically mean that you’re happy and content. Yes, money is a requirement to sustain a standard of living most of us have become accustomed to, and it can make some things easier, but by re-focusing life on your passions and not on how much your paycheck is, you may find more contentment and true life alignment. There really is so much more to life than money. Remember what your true passions are, work towards doing something that includes those passions, and happiness will flow everywhere around you!

Don’t

Take Rejection Personally

Don’t

Take Rejection Personally

At some point we all face rejection. It often isn’t easy to work through, but if we change our focus from taking it personally and use it as a learning opportunity, it can be a positive experience. Accepting and learning from the rejection can guide you to success. I think it’s a good example of something that feels negative initially making you stronger and more educated for your future experiences if you simply allow the process.

Have

A Backup Plan

Have

A Back Up Plan

You never know when the unexpected is going to happen, but when it does, you may find yourself surrounded by chaos. Being prepared for the worst case scenario can make things a lot less chaotic. Save up for that rainy day as much as you can — have that back up plan in place — all while leaving enough for yourself to be comfortable in the here and now.

Improve

Your Social Skills

Improve

Your Social Skills

Good social skills are an important part of building rich friendships, being more relaxed, enjoying yourself in public, and succeeding in your career. Learn to read body language and to be an active listener. Shut down outside distractions. Make eye contact, smile more often and show your confidence. All of this, coupled with making a habit of being friendly and having a positive attitude, is a winning combination! You’re on your way to a very impressive set of social skills.

Travel

Be Open Minded

Travel

Be Open Minded

Traveling is a great way to develop who you ‘truly are’ and become more open-minded. I think it gives you a greater sense for the world around you and makes you more tolerant and well-rounded as a human being after experiencing different cultures and economies outside of your own. While traveling is a great way to get away and relax and unwind, it also helps you appreciate what you have back at home.

Do

Less Multitasking

Do

Less Multitasking

If you’re often feeling overwhelmed, distracted and exhausted, it’s probably because you’re doing too many things at one time. Research suggests that when you move away from your primary task to do something else, you’re increasing the time it takes to finish that initial task by an average of 25 percent. You’re also burning your reservoir of energy. Your productivity is severely decreased and the ability for you to accomplish your tasks and over all goals is hampered. Try to focus on one task at a time, giving your full attention and energy to it, before moving on to the next. You’ll feel so accomplished and your energy level will soar!

Happiness 101  – Your Guide To Happiness
